About Insurance Coverage & Lactation Benefits

 MotherBorn is accepting insurance for

telehealth consultations at this time!

Aetna

Dana L. Ehman of MotherBorn, LLC is now and In-Network Provider with Aetna.

If your plan offers women’s preventive benefits you most likely have six visits covered with a lactation consultant over a year. Additional visits will have a copay. You can also schedule a visit prenatally. You don't have to be experiencing issues with breastfeeding.  I provide a thorough breastfeeding assessment as a baseline then help with adding pumping, bottle, and returning to work.

Aetna  - Yes

Coresource - Yes - may have a copay or apply to your deductible which shouldn't happen but does.

Meritain - Yes - typically pays in full

Connolly - will pay a minimal portion of the consult

Aetna Better Health - NO

Plans that are accepted:

Independence Blue Cross

Personal Choice

AmeriHealth Administrators

Blue Cross Blue Shield - there are 36 BCBS licenses across the country, if you have a Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan, that plan is most likey based in a state other than Pennsylvania. MOST of these plans are accepted with the following exceptions:

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield - typically pays for 1-2 visits (when most other plans are unlimited). Some plans have paid unlimited

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware- NOT ACCEPTED - even if they say I am in network, they do not pay my claims.

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield - NOT ACCEPTED- even if they say I am in network, they do not pay my claims.

Federal Blue Cross - NOT ACCEPTED - even if they say I am in network, they do not pay my claims.

Blue Cross Prefix List: I frequently refer to this prefix list to check the state in which the plan originates. Some prefixes are "unassigned" and then I must verify the insurance in another system. This list will typically identify a plan from the list above in which I cannot accept.
